COURT DRESS.
FIG. XV.
HEAD-DRESS. A chiffonet of Itailian
gauze; the bandeau composed of three rows of white pearls;
two rows of the same pearls twisted round the chiffonet. Three plain white
feathers, and two edged with lilac placed in the head-dress. Several diamond
pins, fancifully disposed in the hair. Bell lappets of gauze, tied in
different parts with pearls. The hair very lightly frizzed, thrown into
a variety of curls and ringlets, and intermixed with the chiffonet. Plain
chignon. Petticoat of white silver tissue, trimmed at the bottom with
a deep silver fringe, headed with a wreath of bulrushes; festoons of the
same tied up with silver tassels. Body and train of striped lilac and
silver tissue, trimmed with silver cord. Ruffles of rich blonde; a couble
plaiting of the same round the neck. A plain white bow in the front, and
a large bouquet on the left side. Ear- rings and necklace of diamonds.
White shoes embroidered with silver.
