Le Beau Monde was latered called Le Beau Monde and Monthly Register as of April 1809, when the issues started over with new numbering. It was published in London. From 1806 to 1809, J. B. Bell (who also published La Belle Assemblee) published this journal, while from April of 1809 to April of 1810, J. Tyler took over its publication. The issues before April 1809 are labelled for one month in advance--in other words, here's what WILL be fashionable. Thus there are two April1809 issues; one last one by Bell and the first one by Tyler. I was unable to look at a copy of April of 1810.
Laudermilk and Hamlin write: "This monthly journal usually presented two hand-colored fashion plates in each issue. It was filled with articles about theater, the arts, liteature, and music. It was a close rival of La Belle Assemblee in content" (33).
