Marie-Laetitia Ramolino Bonaparte, called Madame Mere (c. 1802-4)

Madame Mere sits here in a lovely white satin gown with embroidered trim around the hem. She wears a tiara on her head, covered with an gold-embroidered or "spangled" veil that is transparent. Her overdress appears to be green velvet. This looks like a warmer version of French court dress, almost like a pelisse.
